Cheri has over 31 years of experience leading training teams and managing large projects for various types of learning solutions that include both new hire programs and complex IT implementations. With a degree in Computer Science from the University of Maryland, she began her career with a large insurance company, earning her FLMA designation and developing insurance illustration applications. It was while training top selling agents on these applications that she discovered her passion for teaching others and shifted her focus to organizational training and development.
Since then, Cheri has held key training leadership roles in companies that include Glaxo Inc (now GlaxoSmithKline), Stock Building Supply (now BMC), Ferguson Enterprises and Wolseley NA. As a consultant, Cheri has managed training development projects and implementations for clients such as Bank of America, USAA, Amazon, Microsoft, Pfizer, Michelin and many other fortune 500 companies.
Cheri grew up in Maryland while her father completed his career in the United States Air Force. Then, after marrying a native North Carolinian, she moved to the Tarheel state permanently where she and her husband, John, raised their family. She and John live on the banks of the Pamlico River in Washington, NC, where she is a member of the city’s Historic Preservation Commission. In her spare time, Cheri likes to spend time boating, reading, traveling and visiting with her two daughters and their growing families.
